Marriage Preparation
We run two or three Marriage Preparation Courses each year in conjunction with a FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study) questionnaire which is published on the Web.  The one-day course is held on a Saturday and is designed to give you ‘a toolkit’ that you can use during your marriage to overcome the many minor issues that arise in any marriage.
We strongly suggest that you should look at the FOCCUS questionnaire together, whether or not you attend a marriage preparation session.   This asks 185 questions of both of you and enables you to see how you are ‘aligned’ on a whole series of topics. There are no right or wrong answers but it is worth while taking time to discuss important issues sooner rather than later.

If you would like to look at the FOCCUS questionnaire online, then go to www.foccus.org.uk and follow the link to List of Facilitators and Mentors   You then select your facilitator (Rev. John N Wates does this for our parish) and follow instructions. John will then receive a copy of both your responses and will arrange to have a confidential three-way conversation with you both to look at any issues that this may have raised.  There is a £10 fee for this questionnaire.  An alternative website is www.affinities.org.uk
