Our History

St Margaret's has been a place of worship for over 800 years. The present church building owes much to the care and love of its congregations over the years and to the generosity of local people, both worshippers and nonworshippers. It is a building that proudly serves the villages of the parish and which attracts many to worship within its walls.

There are records of a church on the site of St. Margaret 's from mid to late 12th century and indeed some historians think that a Saxon church was built even earlier. The present Church, a Grade 1 listed building, is in cruciform style with a central tower.
