What if one of us has been married before?
The Church of England believes that marriage is for life, but it recognises that sadly, some marriages do fail. In exceptional circumstances, the Church accepts that a divorced person may marry again.

It might alternatively be possible to hold a service of prayer and dedication (a blessing) after a civil ceremony.
What if we have previously been married at a civil ceremony?
We would be delighted to discuss the possibility of holding a blessing in St Margaret's, however this will be less straight forward if either of you have been married before. Please arrange to discuss with the Rector.
